Get Your Hands on A Poisoned Spear

This exciting Chapter Pack for A Game of Thrones is now available!

Ser Gregor grunted. He made a ponderous charge to hack at the Domishman's head… “Did you come to talk or to fight?”

“I came to hear you confess.” The Red Viper landed a quick thrust on the Mountain's belly, to no effect. Gregor cut at him, and missed. The long spear lanced in above his sword. Like a serpent's tongue it flickered in and out, feinting low and landing high, jabbing at groin, shield, eyes.

–George R.R. Martin, A Storm of Swords

The stakes of your challenges increase when you play with A Poisoned Spear!

Now available at your local retailer and on our webstore, this sixth A Game of Thrones: The Card Game Chapter Pack from A Tale of Champions marks the cycle’s dramatic conclusion. Its 60 new cards (3 copies each of 20 different cards) establish situational claim replacement, introduce powerful attachments, allow for thrilling responses to challenges, and enrich the game’s melee format.

New stakes for your claim

In A Poisoned Spear, each of the great Houses of Westeros benefits from the introduction of a new, one-cost Warhorse attachment, and each of these Warhorses creates a thematic claim replacement effect when the character to which it is attached wins a challenge while attacking alone.

Though it often proves difficult to win a challenge with a solitary attacker when your opponent can kneel any number of defenders, the A Tale of Champions cycle has given us the Joust keyword. If a character with the Joust keyword is declared as a solitary attacker, the defending player may only declare a single defender. Together, the Joust ability and the new Warhorses may ride rampant across the tourney grounds… and continue riding to victory across the battlefields of Westeros.

Lots of strategy, but no agenda

A Poisoned Spear also introduces a pair of powerful Decrees that can attach to your House card and, if you aren’t running an agenda, these Conditions can give you tremendous control over the game’s gold production and card draw. While you have to accept the penalty yourself in order to impose it upon your opponents, a deck built to take advantage of these powerful attachments could easily catch your opponents by surprise.

With its new Warhorses, Decrees, rich plots, a new version of The Red Viper (A Poisoned Spear, 113), and other potent characters for each of the other houses, A Poisoned Spear concludes the A Tale of Champions cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game with a triumphant climax!

You can pick up this thrilling Chapter Pack today at your local retailer and on our webstore.
