Pass the Doors of Durin

The Watcher in the Water is now available for The Lord of the Rings

Out from the water a long sinuous tentacle had crawled; it was pale-green and luminous and wet. Its fingered end had hold of Frodo’s foot, and was dragging him into the water.

–J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

Head for the Doors of Durin at once! The Watcher in the Water is now on sale at your local retailer and online on our webstore. This third Adventure Pack in the Dwarrowdelf cycle for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is filled with adventure, riddles, and the perils of combat with a many-tentacled monster.

Deeper into the Dwarrowdelf

Elrond, the Elf Lord of Rivendell, is troubled by the great numbers of Orcs that plagued the heroes who escorted his daughter, Arwen Undómiel, safely through The Redhorn Gate and past the dangers on the Road to Rivendell. Now, he asks them to travel to Moria. Once there, they can determine if the ancient Dwarven city’s network of abandoned mines conceal the source of the increased Orc activity. But before the heroes can explore Moria’s vast network of tunnels, they must first gain entrance…

Just like in The Fellowship of the Ring, in order to open the Doors of Durin, your heroes need to riddle the magical password. The new scenario in The Watcher in the Water tests your heroes’ wits even as they must defend themselves from tentacles crawling out of the murky waters near the gate!

Each of the scenario’s new Tentacle enemies is a fearsome foe with combat effects that press your fellowship to its utmost as they seek to wrap your heroes and drown them. Still, players gain new resources to deal with these terrible threats. A new Lore version of Aragorn (The Watcher in the Water, 53) depicts him in his guise as “Strider,” the Ranger of the North who knows the hidden ways through woods and mountains as well as anyone in Middle-earth. Players also gain three copies of each new ally, event, and attachment, including the terrific Legacy of Durin (The Watcher in the Water, 61), a unique Lore attachment that allows your Dwarves to amass quickly for their journey into the mines of their ancestors.

Adventure awaits

With its unique balance of riddles, threatening treachery effects, and fearsome enemies, The Watcher in the Water marks the dramatic turning point in the Dwarrowdelf cycle as your heroes begin their exploration of the Orcish threat in the Misty Mountains. Their journey is bound to be one full of excitement and of danger. Can they survive it?

Head to your local retailer today to pick up your copy of The Watcher in the Water, or order yours online from our webstore!
