Rules and Revelations

The Updated Call of Cthulhu FAQ and Tournament Rules Are Now Available

Hello Cultists and Investigators!

With Arkham Nights just around the corner and Worlds and Liège not far off, it is time for an update to the Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game Tournament Rules (pdf, 453 KB) and FAQ (pdf, 16.7 MB). Only one small, but important change was made to the Tournament Rules; the Asylum Pack CT58 Touched by the Abyss was added into the official tournament card pool.

From right to left: FAQ version 2.3, printer-friendly FAQ, and tournament rules

The FAQ updated clarified several matters of timing and card interaction. First, a card can only respond to itself leaving play if it is self-referential. Additional clarifications address two matters of timing, explaining the ways in which Passive abilities interact with cards and game effects, and reinforcing that there is no opportunity to respond to an "end of phase" effect.

I look forward to seeing you all at Arkham Nights and the FFG World Championship Weekend!

–Damon Stone, Lead Developer Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game

NOTE: Each of these documents is also available for download on the Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game support page.
