Plugged-in to the Final ServersRecap the Last Highlights of the Plugged-in Tour 
The Plugged-in Tour for Android: Netrunner The Card Game has drawn to a close, and the final matches, hosted at The Covenant Store, the Fantasy Flight Games Center, and three stores in Texas, were some of the most intense we saw during the tour.
Today, we’re pleased to preaset a final recap of the desperate matches between megacorporations and illegal runners. For more details on the stores and the results of your votes for a new Runner ID, read on!
The Covenant Store – Tulsa, OK
This week’s first tour stop was at The Covenant Store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They planned it as an Android: Netrunner-themed Halloween party and the players really got into the spirit of it with a ton of costumes. Team Covenant led the way with a feather-frilled Thomas Haas, a Tyrant, a Corporate Troubleshooter, and even the man from Astroscript Pilot Program.

During the competition, Criminal and Shaper again led the field for Runner factions, with a strong bias toward Andromeda, who picked up half of the Top 8. Whizzard also took two spots in the top 8, however, again granting him a disproportionate share of the top spots.
On the Corp side, Haas-Bioroid was the most popular faction, followed by NBN. The popularity didn’t reflect the winning decks, though – HB took two slots, NBN took one and the rest were filled by Weyland and a single Jinteki, which seized first place. Champion Sam Southard played Andromeda and Jinteki and only lost a single game during the entire competition.

The challenge tables were very popular at The Covenant Store and there were some very strong players; both of our staff members gave away more alternate art Scorched Earths than expected. These challenge matches were some of the closest finishes yet on the tour.
We want to thank Team Covenant again for having us and running the tournament and the players for spending their Halloween with us. We had a blast and are looking forward to seeing a bunch of you at Worlds!
Wild West Comics – Arlington, TX
After a spooky and fun Halloween in Oklahoma, our staff traveled farther south, into Texas, to Wild West Comics, located near Dallas. People had a great time, and even though our staff had to fit in challenge matches around the tournament, no one was turned away from this event.
At Wild West Comics, the Runner factions continued to show the trends we’ve seen throughout the tour. Criminal runners accounted for fully half of the participants, and most of the rest represented Shaper.
The Corp factions were split more evenly than the Runners. Although the Weyland Consortium enjoyed a slight edge, NBN and Haas-Bioroid were right behind.
In the end though, the numbers did not completely determine the outcome. Sam Suied was able to take first place in this tournament, playing Weyland: Building a Better World for Corp and breaking the mold by using Exile as his Runner identity.

Dragon’s Lair – Austin, TX
The next day, our staff traveled to another part of Texas for our first stop at a store in the Dragon’s Lair chain. There, champion Joseph Tansey performed excellently, going undefeated during the five rounds of the tournament. The store was also hosting a charity event, Extra Life, for the day, sporting twenty-five hours of gaming to coincide with Daylight Savings Time. The other half of the gigantic store was devoted to all manner of games. During challenge matches, we allowed Runners to make a donation in exchange for an extra click during one of their Runner turns. A few players took advantage of this opportunity while others just placed a donation during the match.
The Criminals led the Runner factions again during the competition, pulling ahead of both Shaper and Anarch factions, and once more counting as half of the participants.
The Corps were more evenly split, with NBN and Haas-Bioroid in the lead, followed by Weyland and Jinteki. Even though Criminal and NBN led the factions, Joseph Tansey was able to surge to the top, going undefeated during all five round of the tournament with his Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future and Chaos Theory decks.

We want to thank the awesome staff at Dragon’s Lair, especially Michael Hong. We were able to play a large number of challenge matches that day, due to Michael’s expertise at running the tournament. This was a fantastic event at a fantastic store – thanks to the whole staff at Dragon’s Lair in Austin for making this event spectacular.
Fantasy Flight Games Center – Roseville, MN
The final stop for most of the tour staff was the new Fantasy Flight Games Center and it was a great stop. We had fifty-eight people attend the tournament proper with several more dropping in for demo games and staff challenges. The resulting tournament field was quite strong, including World Champion Jeremy Zwirn.
The Runner field was dominated by Shaper and Criminal decks, and that was reflected in the Top 8, where both factions took four spots. While Andromeda was by far the most popular runner, Gabriel Santiago took two spots in the top eight, including first place under the control of Geoff Pederson. Another interesting Top 8 finisher was Steve Reinartz’s The Professor deck, which made it to eighth place with only a single loss on the Runner side.
The Corp field was fairly evenly split between the four corps, with NBN seizing a small lead. Weyland took four spots in the Top 8, but the Top 4 was split between HB, NBN and Jinteki, with Geoff Pederson's HB: Engineering the Future taking first place.

There were several FFG staff at the event trying to rack up a few more signatures with their challenge decks and the players did not disappoint. Many runners were flatlined, but a few claimed their own alternate-art Scorched Earths.
The new FFGC was great space for a tournament, and the participants certainly enjoyed the food and drinks provided by the cafe. We had a great time this weekend and can’t wait to see everyone this Friday for the Android: Netrunner World Championship! Thanks to everyone who came!
Dragon’s Lair – San Antonio, TX
The final stop of the Plugged-in Tour came in San Antonio, Texas, at another location of Dragon’s Lair. A lot of players from our first two Texas stops were coming back for more, and we were happy to give it to them with lots of challenge matches and a great competition.
Criminals led the field of Runners, closely followed by the Shapers, as we saw throughout the Plugged-in Tour. The Corps also showed a distinct trend – Haas-Bioroid enjoyed a massive majority, with nearly twice as many players as the next closest faction, the Weyland Consortium.
Despite Haas-Bioroid’s numerical advantage, when Reid Delfeld claimed the victory, he did it with NBN: Making News and Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie.

Dragon’s Lair in San Antonio was a great store for holding a tournament. We’d like to thank their staff for all their help, and for helping us bring the Plugged-in Tour to a triumphant close.
The End of a Great Run
The Plugged-in Tour has ended, and we had a great time traveling across the USA throughout the tour. It was an amazing experience to meet so many fans of Android: Netrunner and visit the awesome hobby-game staff and stores around the nation. Most importantly, though, we couldn’t have made the Plugged-in Tour successful without you, the people who love Android: Netrunner just as much as we do.
Even though the Plugged-in Tour is finished, there’s still plenty of action for Android: Netrunner. Today is the first day of the FFG World Championship Weekend, and the World Championships for Android: Netrunner are tomorrow. At the start of this event, we’ll make an important announcement.
Throughout the tour, you’ve been voting on two Runner identities. Now, the final results of your votes in the battle between Laramy Fisk and The Collective have been counted! One of these runners will join the game for the future, but the other will be derezzed forever. Which runner reigns victorious? The winning runner will be announced tomorrow, during the Android: Netrunner World Championships at the Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville, MN. If you can’t join us, be sure to follow the live feed on our Twitch.tv site, where we’ll broadcast the announcement.
