Game Night Kits are the foundation of FFG’s Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition and Lord of the Rings: The Card Game Organized Play programs, and each kit contains prize support and helpful suggestions on how to best support your local community. With these tools, stores can host weekly or one-time events to draw in players and build a thriving group of players. Why are Game Night Kits Announced Separately From Tournament Kits?
As Organized Play and the games we support grow, we continually look at how to improve our programs. Starting with the Fall 2014 Game Night Kit, pre-orders and the release schedule for Game Night Kits will follow a separate timeline from the Tournament Kit schedule.
We want to support both Tournament Kits and Game Night Kits in the best way possible and believe separating their release schedules allows us to increase each kit’s effectiveness as we move forward. As always, we will continue to look for ways to improve this system.

A New Name for Game Night Kit Seasons
Another change as we move forward is the names we use to describe each season of Game Night Kits. While a simple numeral has sufficed in the past for separating our different Game Night Kit Seasons, we felt that we could improve upon our old name and give players something that is more evocative. In order to achieve this, we have changed the names to represent the seasons of the year in which the majority of each Season takes place.

If you’re a player, you can do your part to grow Organized Play by telling your favorite local game store about our Game Night Kits. If you’re interested in taking a more active role in bringing events to your community, here are some ways you can help promote Fantasy Flight Organized Play:
- Encourage your friends to join you and play at your favorite local game store
- Ask your favorite local game store if you can post a sign-up sheet for upcoming events
- Offer to run demos
- Volunteer your services as event organizer
