The 2012 Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game European Championship Tournament is taking place on Saturday, October 27th in Liège, Belgium. During the 30th International Rendez-Vous (IRV) of the Objectif-Jeux association, you will be welcome to take part in the European Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game Championship Tournament in Liège, as well as two side events. Friday evening, all cultist will be welcome to chat, socialize, and play casual games for fun…or training! This is also a good time to finish “fine tuning” your decks. Calling Down the Ancients Then, Saturday morning, October 27th, the main event will start at 10 AM. The European Championship Tournament will feature four Swiss rounds, then a cut to elimination play between the tournament’s top eight participants. Thanks to FFG, Objectif Jeux, L'Autre Monde, and EagleCard, every participant will receive a generous cache of prizes. Moreover, the new European Champion will also be rewarded with the chance to design his or her own champion card, which will be published in a future expansion. The Champion also qualifies for free entrance and a first round bye to the FFG World Championship Weekend two weeks later in Roseville, MN. Day Dreams and Night Terrors On Sunday, players will have the chance to participate in an original variant, created just for the event: “Ticking clock and hidden stories.” This variant introduces a dawn-day-twilight-night cycle which gives temporary powers to certain factions. The variant rules can be downloaded freely from rapidshare.
