The seas churn as the Great Houses of Westeros deploy their warships for battle in The Great Fleet!

Now available at your local retailer and online through our webstore, this second Chapter Pack in the A Song of the Sea cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game carries the Great Houses to sea with a wealth of new Warships, Captains, and Ironborn.

The sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards) from The Great Fleet add strength and flavor to each House’s naval presence. The Lannister navy works with the House’s traditional strengths in gold production, House Greyjoy uses its naval might to launch deadly Military challenges, and Stannis Baratheon relies upon the talents of a small group of Smugglers to extend his influence and maintain his bid for the Iron Throne.

The Great Fleet also continues to establish the cycle’s new naval () enhancement mechanic. Eight of the pack’s new characters feature the  enhancement, adding tremendous tactical flexibility to the decks in which they appear. Among their number are such notable characters as Paxter Redwyne (The Great Fleet, 21), commander of the largest fleet in Westeros, and The Reader (The Great Fleet, 25), head of House Harlaw and one of the Greyjoy’s most cunning bannermen.

Also appearing in The Great Fleet is a new version of an old smuggler that’s certain to prompt players to explore decks built around House Baratheon’s new naval themes.

Due to his skills, his honesty, and his unswerving loyalty to King Stannis Baratheon, Ser Davos Seaworth (The Great Fleet, 28) rose from his humble roots as a smuggler to earn first the rank of knight, then a lordship, and then the title of Hand of the King. However, Ser Davos only earned the title of Hand of the King after his king had already lost the Battle of Blackwater Bay and all immediate hope of seizing King’s Landing and the Iron Throne by force.

Thus, Ser Davos continues to serve his king not only as an advisor, but as a talented sailor, Smuggler, and Captain. While the Hand of the King in King’s Landing resides in splendor at the Red Keep and sits at the Small Council to discuss the affairs of the realm, Ser Davos, serving as Stannis Baratheon’s Hand, sails the cold seas to broker alliances in secret. His days are long, and his work keeps him away from his wife, but he acts out of his belief in what is right, which makes him strong. With the strength of his convictions and the skills he developed as a smuggler, Ser Davos makes things happen for his King – and Baratheon players in A Game of Thrones: The Card Game.

Of course, no Captain is complete without his ship, and The Great Fleet also introduces Ser Davos’ ship, Black Betha (The Great Fleet, 29). When you win a challenge in which you have declared a  attacker, Black Betha allows you to play the top card of your discard pile facedown underneath a unique Baratheon character as a duplicate. More than once, Ser Davos has escaped from a seemingly impossible situation, living to serve his king yet another day, and he makes a natural target for the resilience made possible by Black Betha’s ability.
