The Plugged-in Tour for Android: Netrunner Starts Tomorrow The Plugged-in Tour for Android: Netrunner starts tomorrow! Our staff are already headed to Myriad Games – Manchester, the site of the tour’s first stop. There, they’ll meet players, host a demo, participate in staff challenges, judge the venue’s tournament, and collect the tour’s first votes for the event’s two potential Runner identities, The Collective and Laramy Fisk. After that, we’ll be on our way to a full weekend of action! We have Saturday stops at Pastimes in Niles, IL and Zombie Planet in Albany, NY. On Sunday, we’ll pick up the tour in the Windy City at Chicagoland Games Dice Dojo, and we’ll hear more of your voices at Pandemonium Books & Games in Cambridge, MA. Throughout the weekend, we’ll Tweet the results of our staff challenges, and on Monday, we’ll post a summary of the weekend’s action. You can follow us on Twitter at #pluggedintour, and if you’re able to join us at any of the events, be sure to let us know that you’re attending! Every Vote Counts Last Friday, we invited you to share your opinions about the two potential Runner identities up for voting. One will join the game, and the other will be derezzed. Opinions were largely split, and players expressed their admiration of a wide range of different aspects of the two designs. From their art to their raw power and the different playstyles they bring to the game, you discussed it all: “I think I'd rather play as the Collective. An extra click after spamming Magnum Opus, doing three runs, or installing cards would be pretty nice.” “[Laramy Fisk] is an alternate viable way to play deck out without using Noise. He is a criminal that isn’t straight out playing early game, unlike Gabe or Andromeda. He is not broken to the point of being overly strong, and his play mechanic is a lot more different than The Collective. You could build a Collective deck and replace it with any other shaper identity, and it would still work pretty fine. But a deck built around Fisk and replaced with either Gabe or Andromeda would not work as well.” “Both Identities have outstanding art (as is the norm with FFG's LCGs).” “My vote is on The Collective. At 55/5, it will play really different, too, which can make for some real interesting matches. The discipline you will need at times when playing this should be great fun and provide many challenges on when to use those same three actions. A very different play style. I like it.” “Fisk lets you play a new type of game: go uptempo and force the Corp to draw too many agendas, but risk giving them the resources they need to take you down. […] That's good for the game, because we definitely need some criminal variety.” “The Collective will shake up the meta and introduce new deck types.” “The identity is supposed to be a place you spring board off of. […] Fisk clearly is all about the HQ access for scoring. It's probably the best anti-fast advance card out there, of which we've seen basically nothing.” Every participant of our Plugged-in Tour gets to cast a vote, so join us for the tournaments, challenge our staff members in head-to-head matches, or learn the game in a demo. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact on the game you love. Make the most of it! Stay Connected for Further Updates Follow our livetweets, and keep checking back for future updates as we post summaries of the tournaments, break down faction representation, and share winning deck lists.
