Title: FFG:The Run on Snakes & Lattes Post by: RSSFeeder on 12 October 2013, 19:30:03 The Run on Snakes & Lattes
An Event Report from the Plugged-in Tour for Android: Netrunner On Thursday, October 10th, the Plugged-in Tour found its way to Toronto, Ontario and the combination game store and café, Snakes & Lattes. The store has a big local Android: Netrunner following, and we had a number of very strong players. Corps and Runners The Runners were dominated by Shaper and Criminal, with six of the Top 8 decks featuring either Kate “Mac” McCaffrey or Andromeda, three of each. Kit and Chaos Theory took the last two of those spots. On the Corp side, the most notable development was perhaps that Jinteki took half of the Top 8, whereas Haas-Bioroid wasn’t present at all. Still, we expect to see that turn around in future events, especially given that last week we saw an undefeated Cerebral Imaging deck. Five rounds produced a clear champion, Kaiwen Zhang. He went 9-1 while the rest of the Top 4 went 8-2.
The voting at Snakes & Lattes was very tight, but Laramy Fisk edged ahead of The Collective by a couple votes. That pushed Laramy Fisk further ahead in the overall tally, and he now commands a healthy lead. Acknowledgements The tournament kept participants plugged-in until 1:30 AM, so we want to thank everyone who stuck it out to the finish. We had a great time talking with you and playing challenge tables, and you made this a great event! We also want to thank Chris and Colin from Snakes & Lattes for being great hosts! More to Come Will the Shapers and Criminals continue to dominate the metagame? Or will players discover new means to play against them? The Plugged-in Tour is proving to be an exciting preview of the sort of competition we can expect to see during the Android: Netrunner World Championships at the FFG World Championship Weekend. Meanwhile the futures of two Runners hang in the balance as the Plugged-in Tour continues! Will Laramy Fisk pull further ahead in the voting? Will The Collective recover and begin assimilating votes at full speed? There’s plenty more action left on this tour, so follow the Android: Netrunner conversations on Twitter (#pluggedintour), and keep your eyes open for future updates! ...Source: The Run on Snakes & Lattes (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4415) |
