Announcing New Tournament Kits for STAR WARS (TM): The Card Game
Players, talk to your local game store about hosting a tournament with one of the new 2014 Season One Tournament Kits for Star Wars™: The Card Game! In Star Wars: The Card Game Organized Play, the dark side battles against the light side of the Force in struggles of galactic proportions. Now, you and your friends can engage in these battles by talking to your local retailer about ordering a Season One 2014 Tournament Kit for Star Wars: The Card Game. The deadline to order these kits is January 17th, and the season begins in March. What Is a Tournament Kit? Beginning in 2014, our Organized Play kits are divided between Tournament Kits and Game Night Kits. Game Night Kits are now available for our cooperative games, such as Descent and The Lord of the Rings. The Organized Play kits for our competitive games, however, have been expanded into Tournament Kits. These kits now include more prize support and promotional material designed to support competitive tournament play at local retailers. The kit includes a guide to supporting an eight-week tournament series, but it can also be used to host a single tournament, more casual Game Nights or leagues, or for whatever suits your local play environment best. Each 2014 Season One Star Wars Tournament Kit introduces an exclusive playmat, two deck boxes, and nineteen alternate cards – exclusive, full-bleed, alternate art versions of Force Lightning and C-3PO. Please note: The alternate art cards in this kit are produced through FFG's In-House Manufacturing, and as such, they may appear slightly different in color and texture from the game's other cards. To be tournament legal, these cards must be sleeved with opaque or art sleeves. What’s in the 2014 Season One Star Wars Tournament Kit? Each 2014 Season One Star Wars Tournament Kit comes with materials designed to support players as they participate in the game’s fast-paced tactical strikes and dramatic edge battles:
