Title: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 07 September 2011, 00:02:51 Helviticus Trevit seems to make his money running a business, The Trevit Works, which makes carts and wagons of all sizes which is situated not far form the new market square and consists of several large sheds where the wagons are assembled & stored a blacksmiths shop, a wheelwright and a carpenters shop all around a modest house which is both administrative offices & above accommodation for the companies apprentices.

Course we might need to take a moment as I think I saw someone desperately trying to eavesdrop our conversation at Lurgis. perception 1d20+6 : 1 + 6, total 7 Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 07 September 2011, 02:15:02 There again maybe I didn't.

Selngil saw the end of Gildors conversation with the halfling but did not over hear it & then saw Gildor leave the building Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 09 September 2011, 06:19:43 Galdor Slowly circles the building sticking to the shadows. If there is any light showing at shutters he will sneak in for a listen. If not he tries to find a way in.

There are several ways in the biggest is trough an impressive arch in the surrounding wall and is form one of the major roads coming from the New market square and leading to the city's east gate. That is blocked this time of night by an elaborate open work Iron Gate and is wide enough to allow two fair sized wagons to pass through side by side, the gate is barred with a decorative bar from the inside but would be possible to climb and then drop down between the arch and the top of the gate if the decorative spikes on top of it are just decorative. Next to it are the Works offices a three or four story building with high windows and a separate foot entrance the door is large oak and whilst very decorative obviously reinforced.
Going around the sides of the square not on the main road reveals two door and a gate. The gate is small though human sized not gnome or halfling and is right at the back of the yard facing the door of some sort of Tenement building. the two doors plain but very solid looking are one on the same side leading into the large building at the back of the site this seems to be where the carts and wagons are assembled and the other is into a building with a lot of chimneys coming form it suggesting that its where all the iron working is done on site. Over that door is a window which shows a light on the second floor Other than that and the windows in the offices there are no other windows in the outer walls of any of the buildings though ones facing the large central court are almost certainly present. As all the alleys round the sides are narrow and there are at least two story buildings on the other side of all of them there would be little light for any window to let in even at noon. Perception roll using the first number rolled "21" a success suggests that Guildor is not the only one hanging around the works but using the second roll "12" a failure means he can not locate who or what they might be Leading away from the alleys on the back and sides of the works are at least six aleys all dark and narrow, all as far as Gildor can see surrounded by high buildings Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 12 September 2011, 01:26:54 Galdor moves quietly to beneath the window which shows a light. He pauses and listens for any noise, if none is heard proceeds to climb up to the lit window to look inside.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 12 September 2011, 05:29:12 Gildor Sneaks back to the one lighted window and behind him senses he is being followed by a darker darkness in the dark and shadowed alley, as Gildor enters the week pool of light the following dark halts beyond its edge.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 12 September 2011, 15:42:44 Galdor glides through the lit spot and enters the shadows on the opposite side while freeing up the bow from its sheath. I then wait to see if anything passes through the lit area, with an arrow nocked.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 12 September 2011, 16:12:45 The dark area crosses into the pool of light and the light goes out as if some one has doused it with a blanket. A light almost cheerful very defiantly female voice says who are you and why are you sulking about round here there is the sound of a sword clearing a sheath
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 12 September 2011, 16:24:13 Galdor "Searching for answers"
Does Galdor sense the race from the voice, a lilting elf maiden voice, abutch half orc grunt, a super high pitched gnomish squeal? Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 12 September 2011, 17:04:41 The voice is human as far as Galdor can tell
"We all are though sometimes the question is more interesting than the answer sought" there is a rather pregnant pause "well your not evil that I can tell" the darkness drops as if the blanket has been taken off the light. The speaker is a tall woman with short purple hair & pupil less purple eyes he skin is a soft shade of lavender she wears common clothing under a cuirass of burnished steel scale armour a strap across her chest looks like it has a shield attached to it across her back. In her rather elegant lavender hand is a long sword it looks very sharp and she holds it casualty as if she knows how to use it, but isn't about to this instant. "well good elf you first" [/b] Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 12 September 2011, 18:17:40 Galdor "I came to the city seeking news of my missing father, Gileador. Why are you interested in this wagon works do you think your father might be here or have been here how long has he been gone?" Merideth puts up her sword and relaxes visibly

Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 05:22:15 OOC And just for a change of pace I am now in San Francisco, pretty much at no notice (although I was allowed to pack an overnight bag), I have done more travelling in the last month than is good for you.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 05:27:22 OOC you do get about dont you :)
Galdor sees moves back down the alley away form the pool of light as the light flickers a little and then goes out in the now dark alley there is the sound of a door opening & several gnomish voices. OOC just a short one as work calls get back as soon as I can & I thought it had gone quiet Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 05:32:02 OOC It's bizarre, I have spent the last 5 years in Seattle and managed to get one trip to our office in NY and a few local excursions around the State (which is pretty big, it's got it's own volcano Mt St Helens). Now all of a sudden it's off to Canadia and SF in short order, with the promise of more trips in the future.
Plus staying in a hotel room away from the family trying to get some work done at 8.30pm makes me want to do less Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 17:12:49 OOC Sorry about that work rather took over, it was looking to be such a quiet night too, and then the urge to kick the cat out of bed an sleep stopped me posting when I got home
A small knot of gnomes spill out into the alley Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 17:22:35 Galdor looks at the purple chick "leave now"
I run full speed back down the alley, me elven vision stops me from stumbling over things. First turning I get to I will climb up the wall and flee along the roof tops. Merideth runs along with you and seems to have no more trouble with the dark than Galdor does, however finding some where to climb is hard and the first place Galdor tries is rather a dead end at the second story, the purple chick runs on half a dozen club & knife wielding gnomes in hot pursuit. As she leaves Galdor's range of vision she seems to be outdistancing the little squirts handily despite her heavy armour and weapons. None of the pursuing gnomes seem to notice Galdor on his perch so set are they on the other runner. Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 18:55:17 When all goes quiet Galdor climbs down from his perch and heads back up the alley the gnomes had come from. If they left the door open he will slip inside assuming all is quiet.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 19:02:36 Galdor does this and back tracking to the door he which he does with ease despite the lack of light in the narrow alley's between high buildings he finds the light in the window above still out and the door closed but not secured peering inside the smell and dim glow of hearths banked up for the night suggest its a smiths shop inside
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 19:08:59 Assuming he has a couple of minutes and no one else is present inside, Galdor slips inside.
He heads up to the upper floor in the hopes of gathering intel and leaves again within the space of one minute. OOC Is the window where the light was barred? If he goes into a room without another exit he will immediately leave. Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 19:28:58 The Smiths shop is large and open, you could drive a wagon in here, with big bay doors at the other side, facing onto the court. These are shut & bared but would be easy to open. Above the door Galdor came in the roof is lower and there seems to be some sort of mezzanine floor over it. Which is reached by a very narrow ladder and seems to be later work than the rest of the shop being scaled to something of gnomish stature. It contains six small truckle beds all unmade small chests stand at the foot of each bed.. A low table and a selection of gnome sized three-legged stools with some sort of card game in process on it the light was provided by a now doused lamp hanging from a beam over this. The lamp is a common household one, made of dull brass or bronze.
The window is not bared but it is glazed with small panes of poor glass and doesn't seem to be designed to open. Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 19:33:08 Galdor exits and make his way back to the poor house to see if Mr Proudifeet is still there. His mind churns with a gnome speaking in a strange tongue and the image of Meredith of the lavender hue.
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 19:40:42 Galdor Makes his way back to the poor house with out any major difficulty though he does have to dodge the watch who are after curfew breakers but sees no signs of either the chasing gnomes or Merideth of the Lavender hue.
OOC Which is where I am going to have to hold it as I need Deebee & Gizmo to post particularly Debee. I will add a bit more back ground over night if I get the chance. Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: slug on 13 September 2011, 19:42:00 OOC Ithought this would be a good opportunity to regroup
Title: Re: The Trevit Wagon works - Grimsdyke street Post by: Hard Rain on 13 September 2011, 19:51:53 OOC I agree its just that Gizmo & Deebee have just run into each other in the street very shortly after Galdor left for the Trevit House so it would be nice to link them up or not rather than me rail roading them I dont mind doing that to Gizmo as he is past being offended but I dont want to do that to DeeBee as he seems nice
