BURTON’S Civic Society is to take part in a national Civic Day — the first event of its kind — to celebrate history and heritage in the area.

This Saturday has been earmarked as England’s first ever Civic Day, with societies across the country putting on displays to celebrate history and heritage in the area.

The Burton Civic Society is getting involved with the project, organised by national civic charity Civic Voice, by displaying its archives at Burton Library, off High Street.
