There are highway men at the Castle! Gangs of infamous ‘good fellows’ have gathered to brag of their exploits, drink their fill of ale and spend their ill-gotton gains. All sorts of ne’er-do-wells have come to profit from this rendezvous: strumpets, fences, pickpockets, cutpurses and players of dice and cards – so many folk that a market has sprung up.But can such a large gathering be kept secret from the local justices? If not there could be trouble ahead.
This fantastic day of re-enactments and living history displays will provide fun for all the family. The Great Hall will also be open with guided tours as well as our pretty tea room serving a range of hot and cold food – all reasonably priced. A great day out!
