The banging from above, friend or foe, Servitor or Necron who could it be?
But wait there is a rhythm, a code within the noise. My mind returns to my initiation, secret codes of the Codex. It is a space marine code.
Brother Maleficus opens up the vents (his first mistake) and a young trainee appears. He seems distraught, not a good first impression. He request to commit suicide, but we refuse – he does not deserve that punishment.
His story is helpful and explains the presence of the Necrons. The expansions within the planetoid opened up a hidden bubble full of the aliens. They swarmed from INSIDE the base, taking all by surprise. Our young trainee set his servitors upon the Necrons but retreated himself.
A new plan emerged, discussions about the base commander’s quarters and the armoury circumventing the aliens by going through the vents. Brother Ulfrik and Brother Maleficus are to crawl along the vents (sans armour) with the trainee to open up the armoury.
Brothers Dorn, Dravidus & Verditus stay in the damaged Control room to observe the Necrons via internal sensors.
The crawl commences.
Halfway there and the Control room has been set up as a possible ambush site with the 2 empty power suits standing in the central area and the remaining injured Space marines arrayed in combat formation around the room.
A message from the Fiat Imperitus, there is a fleet entering the system. The ships are imperial but unidentified, a Grand Cruiser and some Heavy Cruiser escorts. The Fiat Imperitus retreats to a safe distance as it is no match if this fleet is hostile.
Brother Dravidus updates Brother Ulfrik on the fact and he says that crawling is going okay although he is concerned about Brother Maleficus.
The fleet fire 25 torpedoes at the base, unsure of their intentions but fearing the worst, Brother Dravidus and Brother Verditus enable a point defense gun, but the machine spirits were not with them (or so they thought). The torpedoes hit,  the first set smash open the hangar doors, while a second set blind external sensors allowing a third set land in the hangar divulging Space Marines.
“Who might THEY be?” Brother Dravidus and Brother Verditus observe their formations and determine that they may be an unknown Chapter although there use of the Codex is unorthodox (Heretics?). Communications is enabled and they identify themselves as the “Gray Angels” chapter. At worst a conflict will weaken the Necrons.
Tactical information is passed to them about the Necrons as they leave the Assembly area and head for the hanger bay.
Brother Dravidus, Brother Dorn & Brother Verditus determine that removing the drones left in the assembly area would allow a stealthy move to the Armoury.
Drones destroyed, the stealth commences but Necrons are still about and a squad of 6 is surprised as we turn a corner. Bloody combat ensues or at least would have if the machine spirits had not forsaken Brother Dravidus’ chain sword, so the combat relied on excessive bolter fire against a foe who could ignore our armour. The air filled with bolter fire and Brother Dravidus attempt his patented “fly over and drop grenades” manoeuvre. He followed on with by attaching grenades to the Necron heads and letting them explode. Brother Dorn hit by another deadly blast fell over as his leg burned and fused to his armour, Brother Dravidus fell to another blast to the body, leaving only Brother Verditus to remove the final 2 Necrons.
In a surprise move he drew the enemy away from his fallen comrades, heading down corridors until he had lost them. Thankfully Brother Dravidus & Brother Dorn were still conscious and with a patch up of shortened Necron weapons and repair cement Brother Dorn was able to continue along to the armoury.
Brother Maleficus & Brother Ulfrik made it to the armoury, but it was locked down. With the skill and talent born of a natural genius Brother Maleficus managed to open the door (this was his second mistake)  unfortunately he was unaware of the trap!!
On successfully opening the door a vortex grenade exploded. The resulting ortex opened directly into the warp dragging Brother Maleficus towards it. The trainee leapt to help but as he was getting the upper hand on the vortex, dragging Brother Maleficus from the warp a long pink tentacle emerged wrapping itself around the trainee’s waist and dragged him into the warp. Even his heroic attempt to redeem himself was not enough to save Brother Maleficus as Brother Ulfrik saw a large mouth engulf him just as the vortex closed.
The remainder of the Deathwatch team appeared too late to help, and although we wished to mourn the loss of our comrade and the heroic sacrifice of the young trainee there was still war about and with the armoury opened Brother Ulfrik quickly donned a suit and left to aid the “Gray Angels” while Brother Verditus, and Brother Dravidus saw the gleam of ~Terminator armour at the back of the Armoury. With a cry of “We need bigger guns!” they divested themselves of their pitted and holed Power Armour and started to power up the Terminator Armour with various attachments they found. Brother Dorn could not be got out of his armour, it was felt that an Apothecary was needed, but he reequipped and prepared to head out.

Time has passed, but for a few of us less time than others!
I recall being at a mission briefing. It is all foggy and I cannot discern the content of the briefing...
...I awaken in an Imperial boarding tube with my Kill-Team brethren. It is dark and the machine spirits are silent. One of brethren is dead of no discernable cause – Brother Angos of The Grey Angels. The rest of us are well, rested but all can remember nothing of our previous mission, if mission there was?
Eventually we are picked up by a Watch Post vessel that carries us to said Watch Post. There is much confusion ending with Brother Sven getting a message sent to our Inquisitor and us being temporarily seconded to this Watch Post awaiting his arrival. During our stay we endeavour to discover more of our memories.
We discover a few anomalies
1.   Our weapons are not those issued to us
2.   Our suits have been repaired and in Brother Verditus’ case almost remade.
3.   We eat of each other’s flesh and saw Brother Verditus lying still in a vat of pink liquid. A healing tank we all thought.
The Inquisitor arrived with a Major Brand of The Grey Angels and a WITCH! The WITCH was to scan our minds and find out the truth of our missing memories. This would not do and although the others agreed to her tampering I refused. I will watch them closely in the future.
It was decided that we would return to the Fiat Imperialis by way of the new Death Whisperers moon and citadel to provide Major Brand with an opportunity to talk to these Grey Angels whom he claimed were maybe from his chapter.
We were hailed by a picket ship and after some discussion Brothers Sven, Verditus, Maleficus, Dorn, Snake and Major Brand were allowed to land on the Moon. The old Grey Angels, new Death Whisperer honour guard were pleased to see us and gave gifts of honour to those of us who fought beside them. The Space and Star Wolves started a raucous and outrageous orgy of sin. I left to flagellate myself for their sins.
The cell was dark and cold. And in the night I dreamt of angels with grey wings fighting in the dark. What does this mean...
