for those who dont know the setting I will post things which your characters would know even if you, as a player dont. Please note these are not totally unbiased but are written form the point of view of of some one form a fairly civilized part of the world as all of you are.

Magical beings
Gods:- Spiritual Beings who manage and supervise the operation of creation at all levels with the most powerful ones having residence in Heaven  but the ones which most people have come across being the Terrestrial gods who live in the area where the function or thing the oversee is. They have powers relating to their role
Elemental:- Physical beings who embody one of the five elements of Earth, Air, Wood, Fire & Water have similar roles to gods but are generally junior to them. They have powers related to their role and to the aspect of the elements they embody.

Exalts

Are all mortals gifted with divine powers of one sort or another
Terrestrial
Called Dragon blooded as they are the chosen of the five great elemental dragons one of which is asociated with each of the five elements.

Chosen of the five terrestrial elements work best in groups and their magical abilities are tied to the element they are connected to and are designed for them to work well as cooperative groups. The least powerful and most numerous  of all exalts and the only ones who can inherit their gift from their parents or earlier ancestors. There are not a set number of exaltations as they are made through a combination of inheritance & destiny and evaporate on the death of the exalt.

There are three main groups of Terrestrial exalt From the Realm where they constitute the highest nobility even if born to commoners and families  who haven't produced an exalt in living memory and all are related by birth or marriage to the Empress a single fire exalt who up until recently ruled the Blessed Isle and was the most powerful mortal in creation. Those form Looksy in river province, who are a military caste in a military city state which looks to the restoration of the previous rulers of creation the Dragon blooded Shogunate. Both of these two groups are generally highly skilled as those who might exalt attend special schools where this happens and as exaltation occurs young are often at such a school Lookshy is a republic.

The third sort are Outcastes who are people who exalt often with no history of it ever happening before and are either the results of the Shogunate period when terrestrials ruled all of creation or of forgotten liaisons since. Most have low breeding since Breeding and the marks of the terrestrials elemental affiliation  are something which both the other groups practice a form of Eugenics for the Realm casually as part of the politics of the great houses and Lookshy explicitly managing this resource as  they manage all others.

Anathema
all other exalts are seen as Anathema by most of creation but two types are widely known

Lunar- Chosen of the Moon bestial shape changers whose powers are very martial, the companions of the other group the Solars and mostly present in wild areas and at the boundaries  of creation and the wyld beyond. They are known to promote the doctrine that civilization is evil and corrupt and some gather up great hordes of barbarians to attempt to cleanse creation of the stink of civilization, The Barbarian hero Sleeves of war was one such, and it took a long war and the might of the realm at its peak to stop him.   Others work for this cause in other ways more subtle ones, and others especially the old ones have their own agenda's.

Solar Chosen of the Sun for a long time after their overthrow and extermination by the Dragon Blooded largely absent from creation but in the last five years they have been popping up in greater numbers all over creation particularly outside the realm.

Other Anathema
Death knights -chosen of the Deathlords as powerful as Solars and as much all rounders as Solars indeed to the savant some of their powers seem to mirror those of the Solars. However very little is known of them as they first appeared commanding the armies of a Deathlord called Mask of Winter when they took Thorns there are rumours that there are other deatlords and that they may have similar powerful servants.

to be continued.....

Other Magical creatures

Half castes

The result of a magical being particularly a powerful one breeding with a mortal or in some cases an animal there are several types and some are more common than others.

God Bloods the off spring of any spirit or elemental of moderate or greater  power they are essence users and many learn the charms of their parents as they are used as their parents functionaries. They can in time become small gods themselves typically ones looking after a part of their parents area of responsibility. They can exalt but seldom do so and almost never as the more powerful forms of Exalt.

Half caste Off spring of powerful exalts typically solars and lunars but occasionally terrestrials of great spiritual advancement
Beast men a type of half cast bread by powerful Lunars on animals, whilst in animal form, often half man half animal used as the bodyguards and shock troops of their parents

Ghost Blooded of spring of Ghosts and the still living usually doomed to become ghosts in the service of their ghostly parent on death and not infrequently bread for this purpose.

Fae blooded offspring of mortals and the fair folk made for their own alien reasons or to satisfy a whim

fair folk creatures of the far wild who are forced to take on form to live in creation mostly remnants of the fair folk invasion which happened during the great contagion.

Hob Goblins Creatures made by the fair folk to serve them

Ghosts The spirits of the dead who will not or can not pass on into the cycle of reincarnation.
Hungry ghosts the bodies of the newly dead animated by their lingering baser urges to satiate them on the living

Death Lords Lords of the underworld

Demons Residents of a parallel realm the weaker inhabitants of which can be summoned to serve the creatures of creation and the more powerful of which are imprisoned in and plot escape

Neverborn The ghosts of things never meant to die

to be expanded upon.....

Magical features of Creation

Manses buildings or other structures designed to cap off a Demise and turn the up welling of essence to a use. They produce magical gems called hearthstones which exalts and other essence users can use as well as allowing a properly attuned exalt to restore their power rapidly they are often the dwellings of exalts or other magical creatures who guard them activly knowen to be present in both heaven and the underworld.

Geographical

Death realms Places where by reason of a great deal of death usually violent death where the under world can be reached directly from creation during the hours of darkness, frequently occupied by the corporal unread & during the night by ghosts. There few living residents are often sickly creatures doomed to an early death and to linger as ghosts. Most Savants consider them to be unnatural places and rituals are commonly practised to reduce their size or remove them. Small ones are particularly amenable to this but large ones or ancient ones like black chase near Siinjan are not.

Demises Regions of the world where dragon lines cross and there is an up welling of essence these are dangerous places to live as raw essence in this abundance is harmful and twists life in inhabited areas they are usually caped with structures called Manses which seal of the up welling and turn it to use. They are also the favoured abode of the fair folk in creation and for creatures much mutated by exposure to the wild and its raw potential.

Wyld Regions  mostly at the edges of creation where the natural laws of creation begin to break down and there is an increasing level of mutability and raw chaos which can twist the creatures of creation even the exalts and require increasingly powerful charms to defend against this however such protections only work to a limited extent and prolonged or repeated exposure is both addictive and warps the mind body and spirit of an individual no mater how mighty. These areas are where the Fair folk, natives of the sea of raw chaos beyond creation, are most comfortable in creation.

Poles

Creation has five elemental poles Earth at the centre of the realm fire in the utmost south wood in the utmost east air in the utmost north and water in the utmost west. all of these areas are composed entirely of the area's element and are within creation despite all apart form the pole of earth being on the edge of the deepest wyld
