Runewars Revised Edition

A Great Storm Approaches...

Almost a thousand years ago, the wizard Timmorran created a powerful relic known as the Orb of the Sky. To keep the Orb from the hands of evil, the wizard shattered it scattering its shards across the world of Mennana. In Terrinoth, dragons hunted the shards and marked them with their own powerful runes.
Now the undead army of Waiqar the Betrayer, the Latari Elves, the bloodthirsty Uthuk Y'llan, and the knight of the Lords of Dagan ready for war. The time of the Runewars has come upon Terrinoth - the great struggle to dominate the dragon runes. For only with their power can one have the strength to dominate Terrinoth and perhaps Mennara itself.
In the Runewars board game, two to four players each control a powerful fantasy empire and compete to dominate the land.
Alas, conquering Terrinoth is no simple task. Each empire must recruit armies, enlist the help of brave heroes to quest for powerful artifacts, and negotiate with the land's other inhabitants, placing each race's diplomatic skill and political prowess to the test.
By mastering the arts of conquest, questing, and empire management, one race will claim enough of the sacred dragon runes to unite all of Terrinoth under its banner.
Over 190 detailed plastic figures, hundreds of cards and tokens, a modular game board, and progressive game design make Runewars the definitive fantasy empire building board game.

This game is a "folio" game in magazine format, representing an actual or hypothetical battle as included at the end of the Standard Rules section (known as the Exclusive Rules). The map included with the game represents that actual battle's terrain, and the pieces represent the actual units which participated in the battle. the Standard Rules are rules that generally fit all of the folio games, and the Exclusive Rules are specific to each battle represented.

Fading Glory

The Napoleonic 20 game system from Victory Point Games features lower-level wargame complexity on maps where, generally, 20 pieces or less are in play at one time (total, for both sides). This creates tense, dramatic and fast-playing situations on the board where higher echelon troop formations (generally corps) vie for position and dominance. Subscribers to RBN's C3i Magazine have recently enjoyed Jena 20 (C3i Magazine Nr23), a game in this series which features eight pages of Standard rules and one-to-two pages of exclusive rules per title.

Veteran game designer Joe Miranda, with developers Alan Emrich and Lance McMillan, have created and refined a highly popular game series that is growing all the time. A hallmark feature is the use of narrative random event cards that help tell the stories unique to each battle and small campaign. This friction of war element, combined with the operational-level manoeuvres, combat, and even lulls, provide players a fun exercise in the Napoleonic parry-and-thrust of grand battles as armies close to bayonet-point to see which will break first.

Morale plays a vital role, as both sides can spend this resource to force march their units, help rally stragglers, or commit reserves t0 a key attack or defence. But look out when a side's morale is reduced to zero, it has lost the game!

Included in the Fading Glory Quadrigame package are 4 battles:

Salamanca 20 (Wellington vs. Marmont, 1812)
Game Design: Steve Carey
Smolensk 20 (Napoleon vs. Barclay de Tolly in the near-battle to decide the Russian Campaign, 1812)
Game Design: Alan Emrich
Borodino 20 (Napoleon vs. Kutusov before Moscow, 1812)
Game Design: Lane McMillan
Waterloo 20 (Napoleon vs. Blucher and Wellington, 1815)
Game Design: Joseph Miranda

Pax Baltica: Great Northrn War 1700-1721
Direct link   :   http://www.spiritgames.co.uk/single.php?menu=2&sub=n&game=7344

It is 1700, and a youthful Karl XII has recently come to power as King of Sweden. Rivals around the Baltic Sea Seize the opportunity to get their hands on Swedish territory. An alliance is struck between Denmark, Saxony-Poland, and Russia, the last under the vibrant leadership of Tsar Pyotr. This coalition mobilizes to take advantage of the untried King, and break Swedish dominance in the Baltics forever... Thus opened the Great Northern War, ravaging Northern and Eastern Europe for over two decades at the beginning of the eighteenth century. By the end of the war one nation would lose its status as a Great Power, while another would rise to dominate the region for centuries onward.

Pax Baltica is a two-player wargame covering the entire Great Northern War (1700-1721). Published first as a limited Guerilla edition in 2009 by Three Crowns Game Productions of Sweden, this new enhanced edition has been revised and upgraded by GMT Games in conjunction with the original designers.

Over twenty years of fighting span the map from Norway to Turkey, Saxony to Finland. Units are represented by labeled wooden blocks, which are stood upright to conceal their identity and strength from the enemy, allowing players to dupe and outfox each other on campaign. Action points are spent to manoeuvre on the map but also for reconnaissance replacements, or a roll on the treacherous but lucrative National Politics Table. Straightforward rules account for lines of communication and forage, as well as time-consuming sieges, adding to the period flavour. The fast-paced and exciting combat system captures the aggressive Charge with cold steel tactics that Sweden used to defeat her enemies in succession at the start of the war.

Players are subject to a host of influences and distractions that will hinder their plans. An elaborate plan will be at the mercy of a poor action roll or sudden plague, while other events shape strategy with historical motivations and deterrents.

Special rules capture the unique events and circumstances of the Great Northern War, including: Russian army reforms; Ukrainian Cossack uprisings; Intervention by the Ottoman Empire; Polish royal politics; Attrition of Swedish manpower, Founding of Saint-Petersburg and more.

Four scenarios are included with the game: a short tournament scenario covering the Swedish invasion of Russia that led to the Battle of Poltava; two scenarios that simulate the first and last half of the war; and a grand campaign scenario that refights the entirety of the Great Northern War, a first in wargame publishing. Turns typically take no more than a couple of minutes, ensuring a fast pace of play Swings of fortune ensure that no two games will turn out the same.

Can you save Sweden's empire? Or ensure Russia's rise to prominence? You make the choices that will determine who reigns over the Pax Baltica.

Dust Tactics: Campaign Book Hades

In a frozen urban wasteland, the great powers fight on!

As 1947 rages on, the once-proud city of Zverograd has become a bloody cauldron of battle. Its buildings have become strongholds, its Metro a heavily-contested bomb shelter, and its streets firing lanes for the three armies struggling to control a long-buried secret. All three factions must marshal their troops carefully, for one misstep could tip the balance and cost them the war.

New advanced Axis walkers and heavy weapons teams arrive to buttress the invaders, as Allied commandos struggle to secure their tenuous beachhead. Meanwhile, the SSU musters a powerful armoured force to relieve the besieged city, bolstered by peerless defenders of the Revolution - the elite Red Guards.

Dust Warfare is a miniatures game for two players set in Paolo Parente's alternate history of the Second World War. With this Campaign Book, players can field new units, upgrade units with improved equipment and abilities, and experience a complete, multi-player campaign system that will determine Zverograd's fate.

This book provides additional rules for playing out battles with Dust miniatures. A copy of the Dust Warfare Core Rulebook is required.
