It’s easy to be tempted by the lure of power. Similarly, The Long Voyage (The Pirates of Lys, 60) forces players to construct decks much larger than the standard, sixty-card minimum. However, in return, it offers valuable, consistent card draw. With more cards in hand, you have more potential plays each phase and each turn. With more potential plays, you have more opportunity to craft a strategy capable of anticipating your opponent’s plays, and you make yourself less predictable to your opponent. In a game with as many twists and turns as A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, the ability to anticipate your opponent’s moves and keep yours secret is invaluable. The Long Voyage won’t likely prove the best agenda for a “rush” deck, but it’s bound to appeal to those players whose talents and tastes run toward secrets, conspiracies, and control.
