Within Labyrinth of Ruin, a wealth of new material awaits both the Heroes and the Overlord. Featuring new quests, heroes, classes, items, and even a new die, Labyrinth of Ruin expands the base game immensely, allowing the Heroes to adventure through previously unrevealed regions of Terrinoth.
Labyrinth of Ruin starts the Heroes on a new campaign, consisting of nineteen quests, chronicling their battle against a mysterious sorceress. As the journey progresses, the Heroes and the Overlord each gain power, culminating in a massive final battle between good and evil. What’s more, the Heroes are no longer alone in their battle! Labyrinth of Ruin introduces an entirely new game element in the form of Allies, characters that can accompany the Heroes on their quests, granting valuable aid to the Heroes through their attacks and abilities. But these Allies are not free from risk. The cunning Overlord can corrupt an unprotected Ally, turning him into a vile enemy conspiring against his former friends.
Specialize Your Heroes with All-New Classes
Labyrinth of Ruin also introduces four new Heroes to possibly join the quest, each representing one of the new classes included in the expansion. The Treasure Hunter is quick to grab the loot and relics around him, and can also be useful in a scrap with monsters, whereas the Beastmaster is naturally adept at the art of hunting, aided by his wolf companion. Other classes are the Apothecary, who mixes potions with ease for both offensive and defensive use, and the Hexer, who channels the darkest areas of magic into pain and punishment for the Overlord’s creatures.
The Heroes may also be able to benefit from impressive new green die, which can trigger special abilities with ease through the inclusion of a large amount of surge symbols. By using new items and abilities, the Heroes can use this power to complete their noble mission, but the dark forces are also able to tap this new force.
Experience the Unplumbed Depths of Darkness
The Overlord ruling the labyrinth gathers new and potent evils to himself in this expansion. Volucrix reavers and arachyura chitter and scurry in the catacombs, waiting to cut and sever with their pincers, jaws, and blades. Carrion drakes spread disease to those around them, and enchanted goblins take up arms in the service of the Overlord.
In addition to a new range of monsters to gather in his service, the Overlord also receives the possibility of using an alternate set of Overlord cards. Although these cards are powerful when used normally, many of them can cause additional damage when used against a specific class of Hero, opening new strategic options for the servitors of chaos.
