Cold Harvest

Roleplay During the Great Purges of Stalin's RussiaAll is not well at Krasivyi Oktabyr-3, a collective farm hidden away in the wilds of central Russia. A fall-off in production has come to the attention of the Soviet authorities and communications are down. No one has a clue as to what is happening out there.Despite the ravages of the Russian winter, someone must be sent to uncover the reasons for the slackening production and to deal with the situation. Vigilance is key, as there may be anti-Soviet agitators at work. Trust no one!Cold Harvest is a Call of Cthulhu scenario set at the height of Stalin's Russia in the late 1930s. Player take on the role of NKVD agents from the people's Commissariat For Internal Affairs, tasked with investigating strange happenings at Krasivyi Oktabyr-3.Cold Harvest has been designed to be playable by one Keeper and one player, as well as for groups of between two to six players. Eight pre-generated investigators are included, allowing players to chose from a range of characters. Directions are also provided as to the role and duties of an NKVD officer, allowing players to quickly understand the motivations and responsibilities of their characters.Throughout the scenario, guidance and roleplaying tips are provided for the Keeper, as well as advice for using other published Soviet-era scenarios with Cold Harvest to form a larger campaign set against the backdrop of Communist Russia.

Sheoloth: The Sprawling City

Far below the skies of the surface world, beyond the notice of many of the cities, towns and villages above, lies Sheoloth, a city of mystery, intrigue, and danger where the formidable and cunning dark elves live. A city full of priestesses that worship alien beings of immense power, creatures bending reality to their whim, drawing upon primal, fears to shape their forms.Noble houses constantly vie for power; the most powerful can be lost in seconds should they fail in their schemes, so they all try to curry favour in the Dark Mother's court and protect their positions, all the while making sure daggers are firmly placed in the backs of their enemies and the throats of their allies. The dark elves here need to be careful, for they have enemies above and below, and have to contend with their own callous natures. Unknown to them, they have enemies within the city's own shadows - the ovarisites, a strange race of highly intelligent creatures that plot and plan their demise. The residents of the city must also contend with squabbling merchants, wily thieves and deadly assassins. The shadows cast by these groups interweave with common folk and nobility alike, and not a day goes by when some plan fails or succeeds, resulting in loss of life or freedom either way.

The Book of Ants

From City of Lights to Palaces of DreamEvocative, enigmatic, and haunted by airborne polyps, The Book of Ants, a.k.a. Livre des Fourmis, gives Trail of Cthulhu Keepers and players an essential window into Paris of the 20s and 30s, and into the Dreamlands beyond. From November 1918 to September 1929, the young poet Henri Salem fell in with the surrealists of Paris. Swept up by the imperious charisma of group leader Andre Breton, he rapidly found himself sharing cafe tables with the key figures of this most influential and fractious art movement of the pre-war period. According to this, his diary of the era, he traded quips with Marcel Duchamp, feared the madness of Antonin Artaud, and served as model for the famous shot of ants crawling from a hole in a man's hand in Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel's scandalous film Un Chien Andalou. If his tale can be fully believed, he stepped with them from waking Paris to an ancient yet surprisingly malleable realm of dream. (Save for Breton, who could never make the leap.) There he walked along-side such Mythos figures as Randolph Carter, King Kuranes and the ghoul once known as Richard Pickman. As such his diary serves as an indispensable guide to anyone wishing to explore the dangerous demimonde of the Parisian art scene, where disagreements over aesthetics are often settled with knife wounds and broken bones. Even more, it provivdes a rare look into the ever-shifting shores of the Dreamlands, just as its air of the fantastical gives way to horrific reflections of a world spinning into chaos and death.

Dreamhounds of Paris

Follow the Trail of Cthulhu into the DreamlandsFrom the 1920s to the coming of the Occupation, a new breed of artist prowled the fabled streets of Paris. Combative, disrespectful, irresponsible, the surrealists broke aesthetic conventions, moral boundaries - and sometimes, arms. They sought nothing less than to change humanity by means of a worldwide psychic revolution. Their names resound through pop culture and the annals of art history. But until now, no one has revealed what they were really up to.In this comprehensive campaign guide for Trail of Cthulhu, you recreate their mundane and mystical adventures as you stumble onto the Dreamlands, a fantastical realm found far beyond the wall of sleep. At first by happenstance and later by implacable design, you remake it in the fiery image of your own art. Will you save the world, or destroy it?Choose your player character from a roster of 19 visionaries and madmen:Put up your dukes as two-fisted filmmaker LUIS BUNUEL.Flee a formless entity as Dada impresario TRISTAN TZARA.Photograph tentacled entities as American expat MAN RAY.Personify the joy and decadence of the city as chanteuse KIKI DE MONTPARNASSE.Wield the magic cane that will end the world as theatre of cruelty inventor ANTONIN ARTAUD.Or arrive in Paris as fresh-faced young painter SALVADOR DALI, who has come to tear the movement all down and rebuild it in his image.Includes:A guide to Paris in the 20s and 30s, from the swirl and sin of Montmatre to the staged atrocities of the Theatre du Grand-Guignol.A tour of its occult depths, from primeval Druids, to today's opium-addled ritualists.A survival manual for invaders of dream. Do you shape the Dreamlands to your will, or surrender to its madness?A gazetteer of 43 dream locales, from the meandering River Ai to the furnaces of Zar, where yesterday's useless poets burn.13 monsters of dream, from the familiar yet terrifying gugs and ghasts to the new grotesqueries like the bulbhead and putrefacto.Brilliant advice to help you pull off the campaign of your GMing career. And a full introductory adventure, in which the characters meet that notorious icon of Gallic literary madness, Maldoror. The Dreamlands are as strange as you can imagine.

The only certainty is that no one knows exactly what caused the dead to rise, but now they are here and they have won.Yet there you are, in the middle of it all. How will you survive? Do you have a plan? Will you fight, will you hide, or will you die? This is not a game about action heroes or movie stars. Rise to the ChallengeThis durable, four-panel Dungeon Master's screen, lavishly adorned with illustrations inside and out, will enchant and inspire players and Dungeon Masters alike. The screen's landscape orientation allows the Dungeon Master to easily see beyond the screen and reach over it, even as it keeps die rolls and notes hidden from players. Tables on the inside provide essential support for the three pillars of play - combat, exploration and social interaction - to Dungeon Masters of all skill levels. The outside of the screen features an epic scene illustrated by Craig Spearing, depicting the red dragon Thraxata the Flamefiend and her kobold minions confronting a party of intrepid adventurers. Albion Hardback

Two centuries ago the Age of Madness ended in the event known as the Shrug. Gaia's outrage raised the sea and changed the weather, and society crumbled. The Druid Order came forth to lead us in a new way, inspired by the ideas of ancient times. Now the seven kingdoms know peace and prosperity, but rumours and shadows are growing. Who will confront them?Albion is a fantasy roleplaying game using Celtic elements and themes in an isolated future Britain that has turned back to its past. Magic lies below the surface and can be stirred by any skill or roused by spells, and the paths of destiny call for champions. The basic rules are simple, with plenty of options for adding more detail to characters when you're ready.
