The movie "I am Legend" with Will Smith, when he kills his own dog with strangulation because it gets infected. Man I didn't cry, but it hit me HARD. I'm an animal lover and that was so hard to watch.

My boy friend was crying a river at the end of "Marley and Me"

RING      OF      BRIGHT      WATER. Cried 6 times. SIX. God i love that movie, but i refuse to watch Born Free if it has similar themes.

Homeward Bound was the first movie that nearly got me going, back when i was at primary school. I really had to try hard to hold it in.

Ring of Bright Water is up there for me too, though I've not seen it in years

Also Silent Running.  I would not though it possible to care for three robots but I did!

Has got to be "All Quiet on the Western Front", though the end of "Ring of Bright water" and parts of "Watership down" are almost as sad. Haven't seen the film of "I am Legend" but have read the original book which is grim rather than sad throughout with a strangely triumphant ending. The film of "Green Mile" is also rather poingnent though for very different reasons.

I agree that killing the dog in I Legend was a really difficult thing to watch even though it was for the dogs own good, I cried and cried.

I Read Marley and me and the book is great, laughing one minute then crying the next, then i went to see the film and was pleased they did a good job of it, then I cried and cried again. [get me a bucket]  Cry

I think The Green Mile was one of my all time sad films too, what do you think - anyone remember it.

But the animal ones get me every time.
