The characters are hired by the Angolan administration to undertake a hit on the Cabindan Separatist leader Kolithi Bola, who has seized control of the oil rich exclave of Cabinda. Bola will be holding a rally at the stadium in Cabinda City in three days time and this is the chance for the crew to carry out their mission.

Through their agency, Arclight, the crew are assembled and given their briefing pack. The reward for success is a cool $2m.

The team consist of Rick Spokane, an American chopper pilot, Gino Caprera an Italian ex-infantry sniper and Vladco Mitavic, ex- Serbian Special Forces, all now turned to mercenary contracts.

Following the purchase of some supplies, which appeared to include stolen Al Jezeera tv camera and sound equipment and a selection of fake documentation to reflect their cover as an Italian news crew, they board their flight from Egypt to Angola.

Upon arrival they are met by an official from the Foreign Ministry, who explains about the pig Bola, and describes their method of insertion the following day by helicopter.

Rick considers driving across the narrow corridor of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Cabinda might be a better option, so as to have a vehicle for the 19Km run from the border to Cabinda City, and requests something suitable be brought in the morning.

Unfortunately their man doesn't quite understand the subtlety of working behind the lines, and in the morning a Landcruiser painer and marked in Angolan Army colours appears, complete with welded on pintle mount.

Given the option the crew choose to fly in with 'George' a 17 year old Angolan pilot who thinks he is hot stuff in his well worn UH-1. As such the characters arrive 2Km outside the Cabindan border in a clearing. As there thoughts turn to the procurment of a vehicle they walk to the nearest settlement- a catholic orphanage in the jungle, where they hire a Seat Ibiza from the nuns.

Travel to Cabinda City is a relatively calm affair with the crew talking their way through a check point under their assumed journalistic identities.

In the city they arrive at the Hotel Royal, a Portugese colonial period hotel which has seen better days, but is the best on offer and caters for westerners and the Chinese oil conglomerate members who were here until the regime change.

At the Hotel they meet two arrogant and stereo-typical Frenchmen who it turns out are assisting Bola. The group appear to befriend them in order to pump them for intel, leading to various disclosures about the presence of a contingent of French Foreign Legion troops and a trip to the stadium to see the preparations for the rally. They also attempt to talk the Frenchmen into assisting them to get a more intimate interview with Bola before the Rally at the Media Centre.

The session ends with the crew considering their options for the impending hit- notably the ticklish issue of exfiltration when they have assassinated the leader of hundreds of thousands of machete wielding separatists and their AK-74 toting militia!

Yep, huge potential for a Wild Geese/Tear of the Sun type ending - machete assited!

Rick is flying out, no matter what anyone else says...
