Si: Putting two and two together (finally) “The Band of Vacuous Heads” head off to the cities premier locksmith who has conincidentally done a storming trade since the disappearances started.  With much bluffing and miming “The Guild of Mummers” uncover a backroom and an unusual semi visible creature whom they dispatched forthwith.  The locksmith then came clean that he was being held to ransom himself, his familiar was kidnapped by the skulks who were using his shop as a passage from the underdark, the fearless adventurers entered the passageway without a thought for personal safety and went about the rescue of the children and general vanquishing of all things evil (with less than 10 hps).

DSB: After meeting with a rather nervous Keygan Ghelve you took the hint that he was being held to ransom somehow, and suspected that he was indeed giving "someone" access to the cities buildings though the use of a set of master keys.

Later that day you burst into his shop, barged past a very flustered Keygan, into his backroom where upon a small fracas ensued with a humanoid creature you later identified as a Skulk. After dispatching the Skulk (which made a beautiful leaping attack down the stairs only to miss and hit the wall - not a good start for it!) Keygan spilled the beans.

He had been held to ransom by these creatures through his familiar - Starbrow the rat - where they had forced him to provide master keys to his locks and allow access through his shop. In exchange for as much information as possible Keygan pleads with you to save his familiar.

Keygan described both large and small cloaked creatures coming and going (he didn't know what they where), but he swears he didn't know what they were doing. The smaller ones he described as having cloven feet.

He knows they were using the abandoned Gnome enclave of Jzadirune as a base. He has not been there since he was a boy. It was abandoned because a of magical affliction known as the Vanishing which there was no known cure. He was hoping that the creatures would catch it and that would bring their control over him to an end.

He provides you with a map of Jzadirune carved into a piece of leather.
