Ok folks I can't vouch for the accuracy of this but its a good yarn so bear with me ( grr grr) Cheesy ....

As Told by Mick "the Brick" O'Leary

Nov 1927

We were contacted by Ray Cook our caes officer for Crowthorne Investigations, for whom we had recently started working for. Crowthorne have a number of offices and specialise in solving "unsolvable" or closed cases. The more obscure the better, and this one turned out to be a real doozie.

The body of a young woman, Amy Hanover a freelance writer, was found in Fairfax cemetary. There were no signs of violence and the cause of death was listed as heart failure, however Crowthorne Investiagtions thought there might be someting a bit more behind it.

It seems that this woman was rather intested in an old Witch by the name of Mercy Booth, and had been doing a fair bit of background work on her. Even had an article published in an occult rag. Interestingly enough Amy died at the sight of Mercy Booths grave, perhaps the old witch rose from the grave and scared her to death!

Turns out old Mercy has a place on Lyle Street, I say had since an apartment block stands there now courtesy of Da Chille Construction Co.. Strngley enough work had to stop there for a while when an underground chamber was uncovered. What was in it was a bit of a mystery, however a Prof. Hagerty of Boston Uni seemed to think it was nothing and gave the the all clear to be filled in.

Anyway the plot thickens when it turns out that Prof Hagerty died in 1893 (24 years ago), and get this, he was found dead of a heart attack in fairfield cemetary. Turns out he was researching a book on , guess who!, yep the old MB herself!.

Well anyway we decided it was high time we had a peek at her ladyship so we tooled up and like did probably the second most stupid thing, went to the graveyard at midnight! (first would have been to split up!). We found a hole behind a mausloeum and found some tunnels underneath. The inhabitants weren't much for culinery delights cause they seemed to have eaten half the graveyard. We happened to chance one of these individuals on our trip and whatever they were. We did however find some notes belonging to Hagerty in the tunnels. Turns out he paid off Da Chille to floor over the basement, and that there was some sort of medieval script on the floor. Also he been back a few times and had been hearing voices which he thought were the old witch herself, he was planning on bringing his wife with him (jeez nice date!) on his final fatal trip.

Well We'd had enough of slimy tunnels and weird creatures and headed off to Lyle Street, where we broke through the floor of an apartment to find the basement. That was when everything went wierd. Not sure I remember too much, a witches corpse, a strange book. When we grabbed the book these globes of light entered through a wall and next we know old Mercy Herself in all  her horror gets up. We all start running around and Jake falls through the wall, yeh get that THROUGH IT, anyways we don't have much time to spare cause we start hitting the old bird with anything we can lay our hands on, even a sledge hammer doesn't seem to do a lot!, someone has the bright idea of setting light to her and next thing you know shes screaming round the room like a human torch!.
Well at that point old Jake re-appears with some rod thing in his hands and we all have to scarper back up. Shortly after that the whole floor collapses and most of the building to.

Guess old Mercy has finally been buried. Lets hope its for good this time!
