Hi

Being such an infrequent visitor here at the moment I'm late to the fray with this one. However, these areboth great devices. First thing you need to work out though to help you with your choice is what you're going to be using it for and what kind of content you want on the device.

The biggest differences between the devices are simple:
- iOS or Android
- Retina Display or "plain Jane"  - the iPad viewing angles are better than the Note's display
- Samsung has what's called S-Pen which is worth looking up, as it gives a little extra control over a cursor / drawing apps.
- Cameras on the iPad are almost always be described as better

There are plenty of other differences as well.

The main thing to consider though is the software and app ecosystem you are buying into. Android Marketplace has a lot of stuff on it now, but the level of quality is variable to say the least, although apps are available from other places as well. The iPad can use the iTunes Store and... err the iTunes store for official apps, which means quality but sometimes at a small premium.

This is a difficult choice. To make it more difficult could I suggest you also check out the Asus Transformer as well. This is a great Android tablet, with a very useful dock / keyboard. This would give you a genuine 16 hour battery life, and a fully functional Android laptop.

I wish I had the cash to have the headache you are facing with this choice.....
