To the High Seas
We step out of the Magnificent Mansion with some trepidation, expecting some exploding emissary from DeVicious, but what greets us is almost as abhorrent – a grinning Gnome.  Where on earth has Krachtig been we ask, he mumbles something about his warrens and bad dreams.  One of these bad dreams involved him being stuck lengthwise with a spear but not being able to die, interesting, maybe we could put this theory to the test.
We proceed to cast many defensive spells, summon some elementals then fold in just outside the fort.  We are met with a hail of arrows fired from Goblin archers.  In an instant we are up on the walls fighting with the archers.  Krachtig has bravely landed inside the fort with his earth elemental and proceeded to attract the attention of a number of more heavily armed ground troops, causing him to fly 50 yards up into the air and out of harms way.
We make short work of these creatures and Krachtig, from his lofty viewpoint, informs us that the rest of the creatures are fleeing from the fort.  Not surprising since we must have taken over half of their forces out.  We gather intel and treasure from the buildings and let the earth elemental wreck havoc on the defenses before heading back to our own keep.
We make contact with Sharin Cal and inform her of our success and notify her that Lord Kelmort DeVicious seemed to be behind the massing of the humanoids in that area, the name does not mean anything to her.  She hands over the earthquake spell on a scroll to Taran but mentions that this might not be the right time to use it.
When we get back to the keep we find some of our servants from Taran and Krachtigs residences at the keep.  Apparently Barelin forces have invaded Jans Landing and are searching for us, if we try and attack them they will exact revenge on the populace of Jans Landing.  This troubles us deeply and forces us to contact the rebels to see what we might be able to do.
After much discussion we decide to hijack the supply ships that bring goods to Freeport the capital.  We will divert the supplies to our own troops who are slowly massing at the keep and pay the farmers who raised the crops and foodstuffs to keep them placated. Prince Seamus, heir to the throne of Valon and Garith who aims to hold the crown of Ilorin, will probably help us use the extra supplies.  The bigger mission though is to intercept the troop ships which are sent from Specularum to reinforce the Island and take back the veteran troops.
The best way to find out troop movements is to get in touch with Amber who has excellent contacts throughout Specularum in her position.
Amber is delighted to see us and Corinne thinks it would be a good idea to buy her some expensive jewelry to persuade her to help us.  A trip to the market finds us in possession of a very expensive platinum and sapphire necklace which Amber is delighted with.  Through delicate negotiations she agrees to help us in return for a little favor, the man she is due to wed is a complete horror, he is at least twice her age and generally unpleasant.  If there is anything we can do to dissuade the man from going through with the wedding she would be very happy.  She has her eye on a page who is her own age, kind and gentle with her.  Corinne consults her spellbook and finds a devious magic to cast over the elderly suitor which causes the man to back away from Amber.  Mission accomplished, and with Corinne turning up a pair of magic scrolls which enable people to send and receive messages over great distances will make our task even easier.
Whilst in Specularum Galvish and Krachtig spend a worrying amount of time at the docks, seemingly in the pursuit of information regarding troop ship movements.  They plan on stowing aboard one of the ships as it leaves port to try and assist us from the inside.
Several weeks later we get word that the ships are sailing and head out in our two cutters, one armed with the fire throwing device Barrigan had worked up, Saeryn joins us for the combat.  We notice a big storm front moving in and realize we will have to take control of two troop ships and two heavily armed escorts before the storm breaks.
We fold over to the decks of the lead patrol boat and engage in combat, at the same time Galvish and Krachtig batten down the hatch of the first troop ship cutting off reinforcements, that still leaves them with about a score of crewmen to deal with.  Taran, Corinne, Barrigan, Lanneus and Saeryn cut through the sailors on the lead escort boat speddily with help from a fireball from Corinnne, she then hurls another fireball onto the troop ship to blast away a bunch of crewmen from Krachtig.  The captain of the troop ship quickly surrenders at this point and we take command of the four ships.
Sailing through the storm we land the prisoners of war at Manna where the rebels will keep an eye on them and try to reeducate them in the hope they can form part of a new army.
