The Catacombs house treasures and troubles alike. Clever thieves will find the best way to plunder its depths while avoiding the potential pitfalls that lurk beneath the city. Guilds choosing to brave the Catacombs may encounter the trap-laden treasure room of Sophet Drahas himself, or perhaps take a trip to the Scriptorium to stock up on Arcana.
As they explore, the thieves of Cadwallon must take care to avoid the eye of the dreaded Cyclops of Mid-Nor. This fearsome creatures stalks the Catacombs, and will attack any unfortunate explorer on sight. With the opening of the Catacombs, new faces have flocked to the City of Thieves to try their hand at finding fortune. New mercenaries have arrived on the scene with a range of special abilities and stats. Each gang has a new recruit that they can choose to put in play in place of one of their usual members.
Sienne and Isabeau, two heroes from the base game, have also decided to throw their hats in the ring. These two characters can now be recruited as mercenaries, giving each gang three new cohorts to choose from. Exploration, Experience, and Equipment
Beyond the new map and characters, there are a whole host of new mechanics to augment your adventures in The King of Ashes. Combat now includes the chance to gain Experience tokens or become Wounded. Exploration tokens add traps, treasures and your key to the Catacombs. Thieves can now get an extra edge by grabbing Equipment cards, and Intrigue cards can give a gang a secret Mission to complete for extra rewards.
Six new adventures introduce the inhabitants of the City of Thieves to a whole host of new challenges and chances at untold riches. All of these adventures can be played as standalone experiences, or four of them can be linked together to create a larger campaign.
