A Feast for Crows

A Game of Thrones: The Board Game at Days of Ice and Fire 2013, April 12th-14th

“There has been no king in the Vale for three hundred years.”

–Lord Petyr Baelish, A Feast for Crows

Days of Ice and Fire 2013 is now just a few weeks away! Set your sail to join us this April 12th – 14th at the FFG Event Center for a three-day celebration of Westeros-themed board and card games. We still have early registration gifts available, so register now to seize the opportunity to its fullest!

Last week, we highlighted the weekend’s annual A Game of Thrones: The Card Game tournament, an event which has quickly become a modern classic and a staple of the year’s competitive calendar. Today, we turn the spotlight toward another competition, but one without precedent…the first-ever tournament for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition!

A Feast for Crows

This year, attendees at Days of Ice and Fire will have the opportunity to play A Feast for Crows, an all-new Print on Demand expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition. This specially designed four-player scenario is playable in under two hours and forces players to steer a new course to victory.

While players still aim to be the first to reach “7” on the Victory track, A Feast for Crows completely changes the way that players score Victory Points. No longer do players score Victory Points simply by controlling Castles and Strongholds. Instead, the scenario introduces a deck of new Objective cards as well as four Special Objective cards, one for each House. These new cards all establish tasks for you to undertake and that are worth a set number of Victory Points should you complete them.

In addition to changing the way that players achieve victory, A Feast for Crows introduces the ambitions of House Arryn and opens the door for tournament play. In fact, this year’s Days of Ice and Fire will be the first to host a tournament for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition, using the new scenario throughout.

The A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition Tournament

Do you think you have what it takes to force your opponents to bend the knee? Can you secure the Iron Throne in the new, game-changing scenario from A Feast for Crows?

On Saturday the 13th, players in the A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition tournament will compete in several Swiss rounds (based on the number of participants) before cutting to the four top players, who will have their shot at the Iron Throne on Sunday morning, starting at 11:00 AM.

All interested in the tournament will have their chance to learn the scenario during open play on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Prizes will be awarded to the top four players, and the winner will walk away with a commemorative trophy!

Register Early for Exclusive Gifts

Register now to be among the first 100 registrants! We still have plenty of early registrations available, but don’t let the moment pass you by. Each Days of Ice and Fire attendee receives an exclusive gift bag with Westeros-themed items, but the first 100 to register receive even more:

  • An exclusive early copy of the A Feast for Crows Print on Demand expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition! This specially designed four-player scenario is playable in about two hours, and forces players to adopt new strategies on their course to victory.

  •
  • A custom name badge, displaying your chosen house affiliation. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email asking you to select your favorite Great House of Westeros. Just be sure to choose promptly; anyone who doesn’t select a house, or who registers late at the door, will be labeled a lowly thrall of the Iron Islands!

  •
  • An attractive Westeros-themed drawstring bag, suitable for dice, counters, markers, or similar small components. Keep close tabs on your dice for Battles of Westeros, your gold and power tokens for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, and more!

Come for A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Second Edition; stay for a three-day celebration of the intrigues, battles, and betrayals of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire.

This April 12th – 14th, Days of Ice and Fire is your chance to meet the designers of your favorite Westeros-themed games, as well as some of the most talented and enthusiastic players. Join the celebration. Register now!
