Rancid Schemes
The Bol’Goreth Lieutenant Pack offers the overlord a fearsome fighter in the deadly troll from The Trollfens and replaces the lieutenant token with a detailed plastic figure, depicting Bol’Goreth ready for battle. Bol’Goreth is a brutish melee fighter, with high health and strong attacks, and he can use his Reach ability to attack heroes two spaces away. When he causes damage in combat, Bol’Goreth can spend a surge to inflict both the Diseased and the Poisoned conditions on a hero, ensuring that he inflicts damage lasting beyond conflict.
Bol’Goreth is a fearsome foe in direct combat, but he is also the agent of a greater power. As with other Descent Lieutenant Packs, you will gather threat tokens during quests that you can spend to trigger the powerful effects on Plot cards. By using 
Bol’Goreth’s Raging Infection Plot deck, you can cripple the heroes after spreading poison and disease with Bol’Goreth and your other monsters.
With a card like Affliction Aura, you can quickly spread disease by giving the Diseased condition to all heroes who starts their turns too close to a chosen monster. Even if a hero would resist the effects of disease or poison, you can force the hero to falter by triggering Fetid Stench. Disease and poison won’t destroy a hero in a turn, but the constant wear on a hero’s health and stamina will soon leave them too weak to pose much of a threat, especially when you have a heavy-hitter like Bol’Goreth among your monsters.
Once a hero is weakened by disease or poison, you can keep him down with Weakened Spirit. Sometimes, though, despite your most insidious efforts, the heroes will continue to hobble forwards. When you just need one extra push to destroy the heroes, Virulent Cloud effectively triggers Poisoned and Diseased conditions a second time in a round, opening the way for you to attain your ultimate goals.
