Aggressive Negotiations

Reports from the Third Week of the Chronos Protocol Tour

Events on the Chronos Protocol Tour continue to unfold in this week’s summary. With closed-door negotiations involving representatives from Haas-Bioroid and Jinteki reaching the eleventh hour, operatives moved in the shadows to give their side an edge. The corporations were running out of time to ensure that they would gain access to the selective mind-mapping technology of the Chronos Protocol.

This week we bring you more Chronos Protocol Tour highlights from Android: Netrunner events in Europe and Asia!

Fanboy3–United Kingdom

One of the weekend’s first Chronos Protocol stops was held at Fanboy3 in Manchester, England. Tournament organizer, Mike Coop, along with the store, hosted a fantastic Chronos Protocol Tour event that attracted players from far and wide.

Attendees enjoyed a competitive yet friendly atmosphere, as well as some additional prizes that were given out. One random player who voted for Jinteki and one random player who voted for Haas-Bioroid were each awarded with a free Datapack, and in addition to the unique prizes awarded for the Tour, the top four players won copies of Honor and Profit upon it’s release!

With Shaper and NBN identities comprising most of the field, it was Criminal and Haas-Bioroid players who ended the day on top. Always the Consummate Professional, Gabriel Santiago joined sides with Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future as the winning deck combination. Was Haas-Bioroid winning this tournament an omen of the final vote during the Chronos Protocol Tour?

The top eight Corp identities included all but Jinteki, and of the top eight Runners, six were Shapers.

Gamersaurus Rex–Singapore

Halfway around the world in Singapore, another stop on the Chronos Protocol Tour was taking place. Located in central Singapore, Gamersaurus Rex added to a long list of countries that held a Chronos Protocol Tour event.

Shapers dominated the field, comprising nearly half of the Runner decks, while NBN and Haas-Bioroid both made a strong showing. Anarch players edged out the number of Criminal players in the tournament even though only one Noise deck made the top 8.

In the end, it was Abbey Fong who ended up taking down the competition at this tournament with her Kate “Mac” McCaffrey and Haas-Bioroid: Engineering the Future decks. Everyone ended the tournament with a smile on their faces, excited for the next chance they would have to play against the new friends and opponents they met at the tournament!

A huge thank you to all of the stores and tournament organizers who ran Chronos Protocol Tour events during the third week! This week included some of the largest tournaments on the Tour and generated great stories.

How Does the Voting Look?

The third week of the Chronos Protocol Tour was the most exciting week yet! Players from all over the world were able to compete and place their vote for which Corp identity should win the Chronos Protocol. Tons of unique prizes were won, new friendships were formed, and the Android: Netrunner community continued to grow.

The tallied votes for the third week were near even, with players showing support for both of these incredible identities and their possible futures within the game. Jinteki still commands the lead, but there are plenty of votes to count, and one more week to recap. Does Haas-Bioroid have what it takes to win the Chronos Protocol? Or can Jinteki retain control in the final hours of negotiation?
